⚙️Set Up Your Server on Your Computer

Hide and Seek

1. Download the Resource

If you didn't download the resource yet, you can do it, by clicking on this link and you can just press on "Download", if you are signed in.

2. Unzip Resource

After downloading, unzip the resource using a program like WinRAR or any other similar software.

  • Right-click on the downloaded file in a selected folder.

  • Select "Extract Here" or use the unzip option provided by your software.

If you have done it successfully, you should see the following files, or close to the following files, depending on if this documentation gets outdated.

You can now delete the zip file, if you wish so, it is not necessary for the resource to work.

3. Starting the Server

Once all dependencies are installed, navigate to the directory where you extracted the resource files.

  • Look for a file named start.bat

  • Double-click on start.bat to launch the server. This will start the necessary processes and configure the environment for your server.

If you have started it correctly, you should see a pop-up window, like the following:

Once the server has started correctly, you will see the console doing its job, please do not close the window, as it keeps the server running.

If you want to shut down the server, you have to enter the stop command. Once the server shuts down, then you have to close it down again by pressing on x unless it will start-over again, since it thinks the server has crashed.

4. Join the Server

Once the server has started fully, you can join your own server using the following IP address: localhost:25565

If you're looking to invite friends to join your server hosted on your computer, I highly recommend utilizing Playit. This tool effectively safeguards your public IP address, ensuring privacy, while still allowing seamless access for your friends to join your server.

That's it! You've successfully set up the server.
